Driven by a life-long love of working with fiber, my work has evolved from making garments at age eight to quilt making starting about 40 years ago. I soon left the traditional constraints of quilting behind and began exploring more contemporary construction and design concepts.
Inspiration for my work often comes from my photos. These may be used for selecting my color palette for a piece or printing the photo directly on fabric. I often use free cut curves and either machine piecing or raw-edge applique. More color and texture with threads are added by free motion stitching on my machine. Much of my art reflects my travels and years spent living overseas. I hope that people will view it with an eye for the story that each piece tells. |
